Cookies
This page lists the cookies and similar tools this website uses, what each one is for and, for the cookies I set, how long it lasts. A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device.
Cookies this site sets
za_age_ok remembers that you confirmed your age on the notice when you arrive, so you are not asked again on every visit. It lasts 30 days.
za_scheme remembers whether you chose the light or the dark colour scheme. It is set only if you press the colour switch, and it lasts one year.
Google Analytics
I use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_6L5NNKY2GW, which last up to two years. Google explains how it uses this information on its page about how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can stop it measuring your visits with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Cloudflare
This website is delivered and protected by Cloudflare. When you fill in one of my forms, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person rather than an automated program. Cloudflare may set its own cookies for security, to tell people apart from automated traffic. Cloudflare also counts page visits for me without using cookies.
Signing in
If you sign in to manage this website, it sets cookies to keep you signed in. Visitors do not sign in, so they never receive these.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you delete za_age_ok, the notice will ask you to confirm your age again. If you delete za_scheme, the colour scheme goes back to how it first appeared. Blocking Cloudflare’s cookies may stop my forms from working.
